638 new Covid-19 cases and 2 deaths recorded in last 24 hours

A total of 638 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed across the country while two more people have died and succumbed to the virus.

The new cases were revealed in 5,055 samples tested in various laboratories across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Of them, 2,215 were tested by the RT-PCR method and 2,840 by the antigen method.

During the same period, 218 people have recovered from the infection of the virus.

The infection-free rate is 98.4 percent at present.

The number of active cases is 3,714. Of them, 3,581 are in home isolation, 133 in institutional isolation with 30 in ICU and one in ventilator support.
