'6B for the development and prosperity of Karnali'

 

A meeting was held between Karnali Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi and the Ambassador of the European Union on Wednesday. 

During the meeting held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, the ambassadors of the European Union briefed about the work being done in Karnali in the fields of climate change, drinking water, irrigation and renewable energy.

The delegation led by Nona Deprez, Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, was interested in tourism promotion, infrastructure, road access and post-federal Karnali. She also planned to help in agriculture and education in Karnali.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shahi said that the current assistance being provided by European countries to Karnali was important and added that the state government had put forward '6B' (road, electricity, forest, market, idea and management) for the development and prosperity of Karnali. "Without roads, electricity, forests, markets, ideas and management, Karnali cannot develop and prosper," he said. "Karnali needs support in these areas."

Chief Minister Shahi said that federalism was very important for Karnali. "The local level is the government of Chulho. It helps in direct consultation of the people," said Chief Minister Shahi. 

The ambassadors said that there is a lot of tourism in Karnali and its development and promotion is necessary. They said that the state government needs to pay attention to the construction of infrastructure and road access in the tourism sector.

During the meeting the Ambassador of Germany to Nepal Dr. Thomas Prinz, Ambassador of France to Nepal Gilles Bourbaoand Ambassador of Finland to Nepal Pertti Anttinen  and Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnali Rajkumar Shrestha were present.
