The most populous African country has bee plagued by a series of armed attacks in recent months.
LAGOS: At least seven people were killed and another two injured in an armed attack in central Nigeria’s Plateau state on Sunday night, according to the state police.
Alfred Alabo, police spokesperson in Plateau, said in a statement on Monday that unidentified gunmen attacked on Sunday night the Danda Chugwi village in the Jos South local government of the state.
The two injured people were receiving medical care at a local health facility, Alabo said, adding that an investigation is underway with efforts to arrest the gunmen at large.
The most populous African country has been plagued by a series of armed attacks in recent months, which have caused the death of civilians and security operatives.
