A man has been convicted for felony of transporting of pedophilic contents of Nepali children from Nepal to the UK and on charge of holding them.
Subarna Bura, 31, from Cwmbran, South Wales, had explicit pictures and films of girls and boys aged between 10 and 12 having sex. These pictures and videos were retrieved from Bura’s mobile and memory cards, after his Nepal trip on June 2020 at his home.
Cardiff Crown Court was told the 30-year-old was arrested and in police interview he denied the offences, telling officers he had searched for specific sexual images and when a warning had appeared on the screen he had left the website. Bura, however, claimed he had not searched for images of girls - but of women instead.
Examination of his devices revealed he had 14 indecent images, four stills and ten moving, in category A, the most serious level of abuse, featuring children aged between 10 and 12. They also found three images in category B, two stills and one moving; and 13 images of children aged between 11 and 13 category C. In addition, he had 334 extreme pornographic images, involving beastiality, South Wales Argus reported.
In a later police interview in July, he told officers he had been to visit Nepal and had asked friends to provide some porn which he had taken on a device with him.
Bura had pleaded guilty to three charges of possessing indecent images, and pone charge of posessing extreme pornographic images.
Bura, was sentenced to a 36-month community order, with 35 "horizon sessions", 30 days rehabilitation activity requirement, and ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also told to pay £420 costs and a £95 surcharge.
He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention orders, and told he would register as a sex offender for the next five years.
