Nepal's Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya has presented his credentials to British Queen Elizabeth II. During a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday afternoon, Acharya presented his credentials to the Queen.
Because of Covid's risk, Queen Elizabeth had learned the virtual certificate from Acharya from her residence at Windsor Castle through virtual media. On the occasion, the Queen wished success to the tenure of Ambassador Acharya and hoped that the UK-Nepal relations would be further improved during his tenure.
In a 10-minute long conversation with Ambassador Acharya, the Queen recalled her two previous visits to Nepal and praised the beauty of Nepal.
On the occasion, Ambassador Acharya on behalf of the President of Nepal Bidhyadevi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba extended best wishes to the Queen and the British people.
Acharya, who has been appointed as the 22nd Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom, assumed office on February 23.
Addressing the function, Ambassador Acharya reiterated his commitment to further strengthen Nepal-UK relations during his tenure. He thanked the United Kingdom for its support for Nepal's socio-economic development and for its assistance during the recent Covid pandemic.
