Baburam and Bamdev to contest under Maoist Centre's election symbol

Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and National Assembly (NA) member Bamdev Gautam have decided to contest the November 20 election with Maoist Center’s election symbol.

A meeting of the Maoist Centre held at the central office in Parisdanda on Tuesday decided to allow Bhattarai-led Nepal Samajbadi Party and Gautam-led Nepal Ekata Abhiyan to use the party’s election symbol.

Dr. Bhattarai won the member of the House of Representatives from Gorkha-2 in 2074 BS by forming an alliance with Nepali Congress.

Gautam lost the election of 2074 BS from Bardiya-1 and was appointed as a member of the National Assembly by the President on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
