CAN to hold emergency meeting for removing Sandeep as Captain after Rape complaint filed against him

A rape complaint has been filed by a minor against Nepali cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane.

The complaint was filed at Gaushala Police Circle on Tuesday. 

The 17-year-old girl has complained that Lamichhane raped her in a hotel room in Kathmandu on August 21, a day before Lamichhane left for the bilateral series with Kenya, according to a source at the Police Range. The girl has claimed in her complaint that she had gone to Nagarkot with Lamichhane on August 17 after being introduced to him through her friend.

The girl is currently under police protection and has undergone a health check-up.

Similarly, An emergency meeting of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) is being held today. A meeting is about regarding Sandeep's issue and also on other matters and agendas.

According to CAN chairperson, Chatur Bahadur Chand, A meeting will be held today evening. The meeting can remove captain Sandeep from his duties.
