China's State Councilor and Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi and his team of high level delegation has landed in Kathmandu.
MInister Yi, who is in the state visit aroun South Asia came to Kathmandu from New Delhi, India at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka.
The 25-member Chinese delegation landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at around 5:00 pm on special flight. Yi's official visit with Nepali leaderes, however, will begin from tomorrow onwaards. Yi during his three days visit is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The Ministry for Foreign Affaris said that the chinese state councilor will also meet with former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
YI will hold bilateral talks with his Nepali counterpart Dr Khadka, and are axpected to sign Memorandum of Understanding for major development projects as a part of China Belt and Road Initiative.
The delegation will return home on March 27, informed the MoFA. Yi is also scheduled to take a few hour hike on the Chandragiri hills during his stay here.
