Chinese State Counselor and Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi and the team have returned their home countries today after completing their three days long official visit, but unlike expection of Nepali leaders Yi showed less concern over the demands forwarded by the Nepali side.
Nepal and China have inked trade and transit agreement long ago, however, Nepal has not been able to use the Chinese port after the Chinese side have not shown any interest for the implementation of the agreement between two countries. Similarly, imports from China have also seen lots of hurdles lately after the two main customs points with China the Tatopani customs point and Kerung customs point are not operating in full fledge.
However, sources told epardafas that Chinese Foreign Minister Yi has not given priority of these key demands of Nepali sides and returned home. Although both the countries have inked nine-point agreement that did not addressed the concern subjects.
Due to non-implementation of the transit agreement, Nepal has not been able to use three dry ports in China, namely Lanzhou, Lhasa and Shigatse. Similarly four seaports, namely in Tianjin, Shenzhen, Lianyungang and Zhanjiang.
Similarly, the agreement to allow transportation through six Nepali checkpoints including Rasuwa, Kodari, Kimathanka, Nechung, Yari and Olangchungola has not been implemented. Due to non-implementation of the agreement, businessmen in Nepal have got no options for the trade.
Nepal had signed a transit agreement with China on March 2016 just a few months after an undeclared border blockade was lifted in sourth plains of the country. Later on April 2019 Protocol on Implementing Agreement on the transit and transport was agreed between the government representatives of the two countries.
After bilateral talks between Nepal Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka and Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi during the Nepal-China Foreign Minister level talks on Saturday, officials of the two countries have signed nine agreements on enhancing mutual cooperation.

Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital and Delivery and Acceptance Certificate of China Aid Covid-19 Vaccine to Nepal (Fifth and Sixth Batches) of four million Vero cell vaccines have been made between two countries.
