Civil society representatives have taken exception to the recent remarks of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Yadav terming it an incitement to violence.
The civil society leaders have come up with their protest note stating that the sitting minister of the government while addressing a political programme in Gaur of Rautahat on January 19 had threatened the opposition party leader with targeted killing and made offensive remarks.
On behalf of the civil society, Dr Kedarnarsingh KC, Charan Prasain, Ganesh Kuamr Mandal, Sushil Pyakurel, Taranath Dahal, Indra Aryal, Mahamunishwar Acharya and Kanak Mani Dixit signed the statement to protest the sitting minster’s provocative remarks.
The statement noted that the sitting minister's life threatening remarks and gesture of taking ownership of the past massacre events was the outcome of impunity underway in the country.
