CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said the commitment made by him to the people of Tarai-Madhes in regard to citizenship is fulfilled now.
Addressing a programme in Bagmati Municipality of Sarlahi on Saturday, the Maoist Centre's Chairman said he had made repeated commitments to address the issues of citizens who were deprived of citizenship for long and this is now implemented in practice.
On the occasion, Chairman Prachanda said the bill on citizenship was passed from the House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday only due to Maoist party.
In his address, the former PM said the people in Tarai Madhes would contribute to people's rights, identity, development, prosperity and socialism by making the Maoist party further stronger.
As per the aspirations of Madhesi, education, healthcare, roads and development works would be carried out at the lead role of the CPN (Maoist Centre) in Madhes, he claimed.
In a separate context, he said Nepal's balanced relations with neighboring countries China and India is needed to strengthen our national unity.
Dahal also shared that he held discussions with a Chinese Community Party's delegation in Kathmandu and President of Bharatiya Janata Party in India adding that his party was making efforts to solicit support from both the neighboring countries for Nepal's national interests, development and prosperity.
Likewise, he appealed to the people in Madhes to safeguard Nepal's constitution adding that attempts are ongoing to defame and weaken Nepal's federalism.
During the programme organised by Maoist Centre-aligned All Nepal Teachers' Association, Maoist leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Prahlad Budhathoki and others expressed their views calling the party cadres for publicity campaigns on party's activities.
