Chairman of the ruling coalition partner Communist Party Nepal - Unified Socialist Madhav Kumar Nepal, who once voiced strong protest against the US backed Millenium Challenge Corporation, has instructed the leaders and cadres of the party not to speak against the agreement recently ratified from the country’s lower house.
Addressing the Central Committee meeting of the party which started in the capital from today, Nepal who once voiced strongly against the MCC has now asked its cadres to refrain from any kinds of anti-MCC activities.
The MCC was passed by the parliament with the support of the CPN-Maoist Center and the Socialists on March 30 with constant effort of Nepali Congress who had from the very beginning called to ratify the MCC at any cost. Before March 30, the two parties had taken to the streets in protest against the MCC shouting offensive slogans against the MCC and against the USA.
However, in this changed pretext Nepal said it was now wise to remain silent about it. “
"The MCC has already been passed by the parliament with the support of the party. The party has already made a formal decision in this regard ', Nepal said in his address,' The party's decision is binding on all,” Nepal said. Further he urged its cadres to delete the status or opinions expressed over social media by the party’s cadres.
Nepal further said that all the previous contradictions about MCC have been removed along with the 12-point explanatory declaration.
