Liu Jianchao, Minister of Foreign Relations of the CPC Central Committee, had a video call with Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka on Thursday.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, the Chinese side said that Liu, who had just taken over the responsibility, had a cordial conversation.
"China has always been a model of mutual understanding, friendly cooperation and mutual benefit between the two neighbors, who have always understood and supported each other," Liu said.
He also claimed that the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal in October 2019 opened a new chapter in the friendly cooperation between Nepal and China.
He also said that the Chinese Communist Party would maintain friendly relations with all Nepali political parties, including the Nepali Congress Party.
China has also urged political parties to discuss the Belt and Road Initiative on appropriate platforms.
Minister Liu also said that the relations between Nepal and China should be stable and always be good neighbors, good partners for common development and friends of the same ideology who support each other.
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is being held this year. This is important for the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese people and the world.
Foreign Minister Khadka wished the Chinese Communist Party a happy 101st birthday. He also discussed China's progress in the party's 100-year history.
Stating that the Nepali Congress Party is committed to befriending China, he said that the one-China principle should be firmly adhered to, adhere to independent foreign policy and no power should be allowed to engage in anti-China activities on Nepal's soil. He also wished complete success to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Chen Zhou, deputy minister of the international department of the CPC Central Committee, also attended the talks.
