Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude jolts Kathmandu

An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 hit Nepal’s Nuwakot district and surrounding areas early Saturday morning at 5:26 am.

According to the National Seismological Center, the quake took place at 5.26 am with Nuwakot as its epicenter.

The tremor of the quake felt sharp but for a short time in Kathmandu.

It is said that the quake is an aftershock of the Gorkha Earthquake that occurred in April 2015
