The election process for 19 members of the National Assembly has started from today. The Election Commission has stated that the final list of candidates, election symbol giving program and election code of conduct will be implemented from 4 to 9 January under the election process.
According to the commission, polling will be held on JAN 26. The commission has stated that there are 2,025 voters in the National Assembly election with 1,493 at the local level and 532 in the state assembly.
Eight polling stations and 14 polling booths have been fixed for polling. A similar polling officer has also been appointed. Twelve parties have registered to participate in the election.
The tenure of eight UML members, three Congress members, four Unified Socialists and one presidential nominee is coming to an end.
The commission is going to determine the priority of the symbol on the ballot paper of the National Assembly election on the basis of the proportional votes received by the parties in the House of Representatives election.
