French delegation of lawmakers calls on courtesy call on PM Deuba

A delegation of France-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group who arrived in Nepal yesterday have called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The Prime Minister Office later said that the two sides discussed matters relating to the promotion of Nepal-France bilateral relations.

Members of the French House of Representatives, led by Véronique Riotton along with the Vice Presidents Nicolas Forissier and Graziella Melchior are on an official visit to Nepal.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of the Chairperson of Nepal-France Inter Parliamentary Group Madhav Kumar Nepal from March 8 to March 12, according to the Embassy of France in Nepal.

Apart from Madhav Kumar Nepal, the visiting French parliamentary delegation will pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Speaker of House of Representatives Agni Sapkota, Chairperson of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina. Similarly, they have scheduled a meeting with the main opposition party leaders including chair of  CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka.

The visiting delegation is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City and members of private sectors and think-tanks, among others, during their stay in Nepal.
