Greek climber Antonis Sacaris dies while returning from Dhaulagiri

The famous Greek climber Antonis Sacaris has died while returning from a mountaineering expedition. Mingma Sherpa, managing director of Seven Summit, said that he died at an altitude of 7,400 meters after falling ill while returning from Dhaulagiri.

He died at the age of 60 after being active in climbing as well as sports. During the ascent of Dhaulagiri, he was 'guided' by Dawa Sherpa of Seven Summit.

Born in 1962, Antonis has so far climbed five mountains, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Lhotse, and Annapurna, at altitudes above 8,000 meters.

Antonis, who has been climbing since 1990, has so far participated in 66 mountaineering. Twelve of them have even led mountaineering teams.

He has so far climbed 50 mountains above 29,000 meters and 63 mountains above 4,000 meters above 2,000 meters.
