Immigration department arrests 22 Chinese nationals from Budhanilkantha

Immigration department has arrested 22 Chinese nationals. A total of 22 people including 10 men and 12 women have been arrested from Budhanilkantha.

According to the Immigration Department, they were arrested for questioning on suspicion of illegal activity.

Director General of the department Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said, "We have brought them for questioning as to what is the process of their visa, what they are doing here and suspected of doing illegal work." ‘

Director General Bhattarai said that the department was interrogating them. He said that the interrogation of the detainees was ongoing.

A team from the Immigration Department and the Kathmandu Police Office arrested them on Friday. Three hundred mobile phones and laptops have been recovered from them.

According to police officials, they were involved in illegal activities in Nepal. Police and immigration officials said further investigations were underway.
