A school building built in Tanahun with the help of a grant from the Government of India has been inaugurated.
On Sunday, the newly constructed building of Deepak Secondary School, located in Ghiring Gaupalika of Tanahun, was jointly inaugurated by the First Secretary of the Indian Embassy Dr. Sahil Kumar, and District Coordination Committee Tanahun chief Santiraman Wagle.
The school building was built under the India-Nepal development cooperation program as a community development project with the help grant of Nrs 2 crore 1 lakh 90 thousand by the Government of India.
It is one of the 75 projects to be inaugurated in Nepal this year which was headed by the Government of India as a part of "India@75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" to celebrate the 75th India independence.
Established as a primary school in 1975, this school was upgraded as a secondary school in 2000 AD.
More than 180 students are studying in this school, of which 60 percent are girls.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu believes that the construction of this new structure with the help of the government of India will provide a good educational environment for the students.
Since 2003, India has initiated more than 527 high-impact community development projects in Nepal, Among them, 470 projects have been completed in all the seven provinces of Nepal in the fields of health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation, and other public facilities.
Among them, there are 57 projects in Gandaki province, and 6 in Tanahun district.
