For the first time in Nepal, a program on "Interpol Project Leader Police Capacity Table Top Practice" has been conducted.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dhiraj Pratap Singh concluded the program at Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu on Friday. The program started on the 1st of August and was completed on Friday.
Nepal Police has been participating in the 3-year project leader program conducted in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at different times, both virtually and in person. However, this is the first time that such a live program has been conducted in Nepal.
The program provided training on Interpol police capabilities, use of digital forensics, and digital forensic tools.
IGP Singh expressed the hope that the participants will use learned things from the program in their respective fields of work and play an important role in the field of digital evidence handling, information sharing, and research, which will further help the cooperation of the police for a safe society.
Norwegian Government, Interpol Project Leader, and Nepal Police in collaboration with experts from Asia and Southeast Asia including Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Maldives, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam with 27 police officers working in Digital Forensics, National Center Bureau, Investigation Department of Interpol were present at the event.
