Is Elon Musk really buying Manchester United?

The richest man on the earth, Elon Musk has once again created chaos and commotion on the internet with his tweets.

The Tesla Boss, who has a history of making irreverent tweets, tweeted on Wednesday: "I'm buying Manchester United ur welcome."

Hours later — after several news articles were published about his bold claim — Musk clarified that it was all a joke.

When asked on Twitter if he was serious he replied: "No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I'm not buying any sports teams."
