Pavitra Kumar Karki won the fourth edition of Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal organised in the capital on Saturday.
Karki playing with 16 handicap, scored seven-under 65 to win by two-strokes over Lalit Thapa, who turned in a card of five-under 67 nett. Bijay Bahadur Shrestha was third with the score of four-under 68 nett.
Vijay Shrestha Einhaus scored two-under 70 to win the best gross title. Total of 44 golfers took part in a tournament played under stroke-play format with full handicap. Captain of the club Joseph Nathan gave away the prize to the winners of the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
After the fourth edition, Ranadeep Thapa is leading the club championship nett section with 115 points, Pavitra Kumar Karki, Karna Thapa, Babu Sherpa and Purna B. Rai are tied for second place with 100 points. Robin Rana is sixth with 75 points. Purna Man Shakya is seventh with 65. Dhundul Namgyal, Lalit Thapa and Tendi Sherpa are tied for eighth position with 60 points.
On the gross section Vijay Shrestha Einhaus is leading with 200 points. Sadbhav Acharya is second with 160 points, Surendra Phuyal and Robin Rana are tied third with 100 points and Wangchen Dhondup is fifth 95 points.
Total of 10 medal rounds will be played before selecting top 40 from nett section and top 20 from gross section for the final two rounds to decide the club champion on nett and gross category.
