The Kathmandu Valley recorded 46 millimeters of rainfall in three hours today.
According to meteorologist Manju Basi, Meteorological Forecasting Division, the Valley witnessed rainfall since morning today.
Similarly, Bara received the highest 112 mm rainfall. According to Basi, today Kathmandu Valley and adjoining areas received rainfall and it is likely to continue for the next few days.
Valley witnessed intermittent heavy rainfall at some locations. Singha Durbar, Maitighar, Putalisadak, Ratnapark, and Tripureshwor areas were hit by a heavy downpour for a brief time.
As the Division said, the axis of the monsoon trough is some south of the average location, resulting in partly and generally cloudy across the country and rainfall.
Tonight there will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of the country and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in a few places in the hilly region of the country, the Division predicts. --RSS
