Heated argument between Mayor Shah and Alpha Care Pharmacy owner

Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City,  Balen Shah, and the owner of Alpha Care Pharmacy, Duiraj Sharma engaged in heated arguments on Thursday.

During the conversation, Mayor Shah said the owner to vacate the parking lot of the pharmacy because it was on government land.

The pharmacy owner, however, claimed that when he had been operating the pharmacy since there was no road in front of the pharmacy.

When Mayor Shah asked the owner to show the map of the plot and the building he said he did not have a document.

Outraged Shah then said, “You should be able to produce the land ownership certificate. You should have it. Not me.”

Mayor Shah was annoyed as the pharmacy had built a parking lot on land that was not on the map.

“(KMC) published a notice to remove illegally-built structures within 35 days,” Mayor Shah told Sharma.

However, the owner said he was unknown of the notice.
