Meeting held between foreign Secretaries of Nepal and Australia

On Monday (today) Foreign Secretary of Nepal, Bharat Raj Paudyal held a meeting with Jan Adams, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia in Canberra. 

During the meeting, they discussed on various matters of bilateral relations and agreed to further expand and strengthen cooperation in different areas of mutual interests.

On that occasion, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Australia on Cooperation in the Fields of Water Resources Management was signed.

 On behalf of the Nepal government Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, Secretary, Water, and Energy Commission Secretariate of Nepal, and on the behalf of Australia Jan Adams, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia signed the MoU.

A Nepali delegation led by Foreign Secretary  Bharat Raj Paudyal went to Canberra on 28 August 2022 to hold the Second Meeting of Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia. The meeting is scheduled to be held on 30th August 2022, Tuesday.

Other delegation members from Nepal include Secretary of Water and Energy Commission Secretariate Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, H.E. Kailash Raj Pokharel, Ambassador of Nepal to Australia, Joint Secretary Mr. Lok Bahadur Thapa, and Under Secretary Sita Basnet of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
