Meetings of security chiefs to discuss local elections

Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma has held local election-focused discussions with the Chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department at the Army Headquarters Jangi Adda.

On Sunday, Sharma met and discussed with Inspector General of Police Shailesh Thapa Chhetri, Inspector General of Armed Police Pushparam KC and Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department Yadulal Kharel about the successful conduct of the upcoming local level election 2079 BS.

According to the Military Public Relations and Information Directorate, the Director of the Directorate of Warfare briefed the participants on the progress made by the Nepal Army so far for the local elections and the issues to be coordinated with other security agencies in the future.

According to the Directorate, discussions were held among the heads of all the security agencies on the effective implementation of the responsibilities assigned to the security agencies by the Government of Nepal to conduct the local elections in a free, fair, credible and fearless environment with mutual coordination and cooperation.
