Military will react appropriately to ‘enemy situation’: Taiwan defence ministry

In response to the irrational behavior of the CCP's live-fire exercises in the sea and airspace around Taiwan, with the intention of changing the status quo and undermining regional peace and stability, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense stated that its military will continue to reinforce its alertness level and will react appropriately to the “enemy situation”.

Taiwan's defense ministry on Thursday by issuing a press release says that the island will firmly defend its security, counter any move that violates territorial sovereignty, and enhance its alertness level with the principle of not asking for war.

Taiwan’s military is closely monitoring the “enemy situation” in the Taiwan Strait and near Taiwan’s outlying islands and all of its troops are carrying out daily training, as usual, the Taiwan defense ministry statement added.

The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that it will uphold the principle of preparing for war without seeking war, and with an attitude of "not escalating conflict and not causing disputes", the three militaries will work together and use the total force of the whole people to jointly safeguard national security and sovereign territorial integrity.

China is carrying out targeted military drills in zones around Taiwan for several days this week in response to the visit of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
