Naveen Srivastava appointed Indian Ambassador to Nepal

The Government of India has appointed Naveen Srivastava as its Ambassador to Nepal. Currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has been appointed as India's Ambassador to Nepal today.

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Ambassador Srivastava has stated that he will assume charge soon. Newly appointed Ambassador Naveen Srivastava entered the Foreign Service in 1993.

Naveen Srivastava is currently the East Asia Desk at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. He was part of a meeting of the Indo-China Military Command in May 2020 to calm the situation in eastern Ladakh.

 

He was the Director General of the New Development Bank in Shanghai, China from 2017 to 2019. Similarly, Srivastava, who served as the Indian Ambassador to Cambodia from 2015 to 2017, was the Indian Consul General in Shanghai, China from 2012 to 2015.

Srivastava, who holds a Master in Technology from the University of Maryland, has a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

After appointing Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Nepal's ambassador, as foreign secretary, India has appointed Srivastava as its ambassador.

Naveen Srivastava is a 1993 batch IFS officer. Kwatra has taken over as India's 34th foreign secretary.
India's cabinet meeting on April 5 decided to appoint kwatra as foreign secretary.

After Harshvardhan Shringala took compulsory leave from the Foreign Service, Kwatra took over the responsibility.
