Nepali Congress joint general secretary Mahendra Yadav has urged the government to make the transport sector systematic and convenient during the festival period.
In a meeting with Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand today, Yadav drew the government's attention towards making arrangements for safe and convenient travel in public transportation in the context of the nearing big festivals.
On the occasion, the former chief of the Nepali Congress, the Transport Coordination Department also discussed the statute of the Truck Entrepreneurs Federation. Discussions were held regarding incorporating in the statute the present issues seen in the transport sector, said Madhusudan Bhattarai, the Home Minister's press coordinator.
During the meeting, Home Minister Khand said that the government was conscious regarding better managing the transport during the festival period. He said initiatives are being made right from the present for making the public transport well-managed and smooth with the approaching big festivals.
Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey was also present at the meeting.
