Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of Nepal, is leaving for an Official Visit to India on 1 April 2022 at the cordial invitation of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed today. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.
The visit will further strengthen the multifaceted, age-old, and cordial ties between Nepal and India, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
This will be the first bilateral visit abroad by PM Deuba after assuming his office in 13 July 2021. A high-level delegation will accompany the Prime Minister. The entourage of the PM will comprise Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka, other senior Ministers, Secretaries and officials of the Government of Nepal.
During the visit, PM is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India.
PM will also hold delegation-level talks with India’s PM Modi, at Hyderabad House, on 2 April 2022.
The Prime Minister of India will host a Luncheon in honour of PM Deuba and the delegation.
Similarly, External Affairs Minister as well as National Security Advisor of the Government of India will call on the Prime Minister of Nepal.
PM Deuba will also use the opportunity of his visit to address a gathering of business leaders in New Delhi. PM is also scheduled to visit Varanasi before returning to Kathmandu on 3 April 2022.
Meanwhile, India’s Ministry of External Affairs has also confirmed the visit of Deuba to India. Issuing a press release the Indian MoEA said, “India and Nepal enjoy age-old and special ties of friendship and cooperation. In recent years, the partnership has witnessed significant growth in all areas of cooperation. The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review this wide ranging cooperative partnership and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples.”
