The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has said it would distribute new banknotes for Dashain from September 11.
The Nepal Rastra Bank Director, Rewati Prasad Nepal said the public can now exchange their old notes with new ones from the NRB central office in Baluwatar and its provincial offices.
Major commercial and development banks, as well as finance companies, will also distribute the notes.
According to the NRB director, Nepal, one person will be allowed to exchange the new notes worth Rs 18,500.
NRB every year facilitates commoners to exchange their old banknotes for new ones ahead of Dashain, the biggest festival for Nepalis.
The Central Bank distributed new banknotes worth Rs 8 billion for Dashain last year.
