Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba reiterating that the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a $ 500 grant project to be provided by the United States is here to support the country has asked all the leaders of the party not to be afraid of lobbying about it.
"We are aware that MCC is in favour for our country. Nepal will benifit a lot if MCC comes to country so every leaders are requested to speak up about it," PM deuba said. He also clarified that the NC should not be afraid to speak about MCC.
Launching a book ‘A Brief History of the Nepali Congress (Introduction to Principles and Policy)’ written by Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC on Thursday, Prime Minister Deuba said, “The Parliament should ratify MCC.”
Stating that he was trying to get the MCC ratified from the parliament, PM Deuba said the Compact has to be tabled in the parliament. “Let the Parliament decide, it might be ratified or not ratified but we should vote for it as it will help our country, and our party.” he added.
