PM Deuba’s visit to India cancelled with the postpone of Vibrant Gujarat Summit


Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s prescheduled visit to neighbouring India has been cancelled for now after India, the host country of the annual ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit’, called to postpone the event.


PM Deuba was likely to visit India on January 9 for the first time after being PM on July 13. Deuba was invited by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate the event.


A source at PM Office at Singhadur talking to pardafas said, “With the cancellation of the event from the host country, it is obvious that the PM won’t be travelling to the neighboring country now. But, we will make a final call to this matter in some time.”


The Gujarat government today announced that it has postponed the Vibrant Gujarat investor summit citing the in COVID-19 cases.


The summit, was schedule to be inaugurated by by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was slated to be held on January 10. The Vibrant Gujarat is an investor summit where business tycoons and investors from 26 countries will participate in the event. Also the Heads of Government and States of five countries were set to participate the summit with 15 foreign ministries from across the world, including Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa, including Nepal’s PM Deuba


Various multi billion business houses and business tycoons from India itself like Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries, Gautam Adani of Adani Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla of Aditya Birla Group, Harsh Goenka of the RPG Enterprises, Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharati Airtel, Ashok Hinduja of Hinduja Group and N Chandrasekharan of Tata Group were scheduled to participate in the event.


The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was an initiation by Narendra Modi in 2013 during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the state.
