According to him, it has been found that they are running a call center in a house by renting it. Bohora said that further investigation is going on and all the details will be made public after some time.

Only on Sunday, the police did raid and detained 9 people, including an Indian citizen, and interrogated more than 200 people from Janakanagar, following the information that they had set up a call center by renting 3 flats in Rupandehi.

The police said that those arrested peoples are investors and facilitators of the call center. Further investigation is going on in their matter.

The Indian citizens are cheated. SP Ravindra Regmi, Head of District Police Office, Rupandehi, said that they were found to be cheating by asking for Aadhaar card, permanent account number, and bank account number of Indians.

It was advertised that you can get a loan through an app made by the Chinese for fraud. Through that advertisement, Indian citizens used to come in contact with the company through that application and take loans through Chinese citizens.

It has been found that after applying on the app, they ask for an account number and Chinese citizens used to send money to the account.

It came to know that the center gives loans of a small amount of money to the Indian common people and if they do not return it within the specified terms, the victim's mobile phone is hacked and blackmailed by sending obscene pictures/videos.

For which the gang made them download an app like WhatsApp which they had developed before giving the loan.

SP Pokharel said that those arrested are being kept in police custody and are being interrogated further. They have said in the initial statement that its real role player is Chinese and that the business has spread in association with some Nepalis. They revealed that some journalists are also helping.

Earlier last year too, it was found that the Chinese were defrauding Indians by opening companies in the name of Nepalese in Mid Baneshwor of Kathmandu and  SanoThimi of Bhaktapur.

In that incident last year in Falgun 8, a Chinese national was arrested along with 36 Nepali from Mid Baneshwor, and the next day on Falgun 9, 80 Nepali nationals including a Chinese national were arrested from Sanothimi on charges of fraud by operating a call center.
