President certifies five bills, except Citizenship Bill

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has certified five bills received from the House of Representatives (HoR).

By issuing a statement, Sagar Acharya, Spokesperson for the President’s Office on Tuesday informed that the President authenticated five bills as per Article 113 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015.

The bills authenticated on Tuesday include Bill to Amend and Integrate Statistics Act, Standard, Measurement and Weight Act (Amendment) Bill, Accreditation Bill, Yogmaya Ayurveda University Bill, and Bill Related to Oath of Office.

However, President Bhandari did not authenticate the Nepal Citizenship Act (Amendment) Bill, which was approved by both houses of the parliament twice and sent to the President’s Office.
