Police rescue missing American and Indian youth in Chandragiri forest

Police have rescued an American and two Indian youths who were missing in the forest of Chandragiri in Kathmandu. The search for them began after the Lalitpur police informed the Kathmandu police about their disappearance on Saturday evening.

A team from the District Police Office, Kathmandu rescued them.

Among those rescued were Douglas Rowe, 34, of Pottery, USA, Navpreet Dhillon, 30, of Chandigarh, India, and Madhav Gupta, 29, of Mumbai, India.

According to the Police, a team of 10 police rescuers was immediately mobilized from Thankot Police Circle with the necessary torches, ropes and stretchers. The rescue operation was launched after the police contacted the missing persons and found their whereabouts.

According to the police, the rescue site was located on the Thankot-Chitlang road in the middle of the forest about 7 km above Thankot. They were found stranded 100 meters below the road. 

They were rescued with the help of ropes used in the rescue operation and brought to the police station in Thankot. .
