The ruling coalition has decided to hold consultation with legal and constitutional experts on the local level elections.
The meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, on Friday made this decision, according to Vice Chairperson of Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal, Durga Poudel.
"The Local Level Election Act and the constitution on local elections are contradictory. So, a decision is made for the legal consultation," she added and hoped that consultation would help solve the legal hurdles.
The meeting was attended by PM Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal and Janata Samajbadi Party leader Upendra Yadav, among others.
