Newly appointed ambassador of Slovak Republic to Nepal, Robert Maxian met with Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal at the Ministry today.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and various issues in hydrology and meteorology, it has been said.
On the occasion, Minister Bhusal offered her gratitude to the Slovak Republic for its 'important' role in the social and economic development of Nepal while stating that both countries have been enjoying mutual friendship, cordiality, cooperation, and harmony for 20 years. Saying Nepal has been on the path to achieve stability, prosperity, and sustainable development goals through good governance and inclusive citizen participation with the help of development partner countries, the minister said there could be cooperation between both countries on climate change and the issues of weather forecasting.
In return, ambassador Maxian stressed the need for further expanding relations between the two countries while stating that both of them are landlocked countries.
Cooperation on infrastructure development could take place between the countries by making available equipment like radars produced in the Slovak Republic, he said referring to advanced technology relating to whether the country has developed.
Others present on the occasion were joint secretaries Baburam Bhandari and Chiranjibi Chataut and other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
