The body of an Irish citizen was found in a bloody condition at Hotel Manang

The body of a foreign national has been found near the swimming pool of Hotel Majestic (formerly Hotel Manang) in Thamel, Kathmandu. The pots near his body are in a broken condition. There are splashes of blood at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Alan Mc Phillips, an Irish national, said SSP Basant Bahadur Kunwar, chief of the Kathmandu Valley Investigation Office. The body was found at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.

A forensic team including Kathmandu Police Office, Circle Lanchaur and Kathmandu Valley Investigation Office has reached the spot.

According to the security guards working at Hotel Majestic, the two youths had come to the hotel after drinking alcohol at 2 pm on Tuesday (Wednesday morning). When they tried to stop, both of them went up from the elevator.

According to the police, a team of five people including the deceased had arrived in Nepal on April 7. They met in Saudi Arabia and came to Nepal. They are back to Annapurana base camp. They had gone to Thamel on Tuesday night. After that, 3 of them were released.

Police found SARLAND JOSEPH, a young British man who had come with the deceased, lying on a mat on the seventh floor. 

Similarly, the mobile phone and purse of the deceased were found on the seventh floor. The passport number of the deceased is 4905231.
