Three  girls were found dead hanging from the same tree in Jhapa

Three girls were found dead hanging from the same tree in the Kachankawal rural municipality of Jhapa.

They committed suicide by hanging themselves from the tree of Sunkosi tea garden in Bellegaun of Pathamari located in Kachankawal Rural Municipality-5, DSP Basanta Pathak of Police Office Jhapa informed.

 He said that two of them were found hanging from one branch and the other from another branch.

The girls who committed suicide are Kachankawal-5 resident Pancham Ganesh's 16-year-old daughter Kareena, Puwalu Ganesh's 17-year-old daughter Anjali and Birbal Ganesh's 16-year-old daughter Kalpana.

According to the locals, all three of them were missing from their house since Saturday afternoon.

Locals reported to the police when the girls were found hanging in a group at 7.30 am on Sunday morning.

All three girls used to work in a tea garden. The reason for the mass suicide has not been revealed. The police have been deployed at the scene, DSP Pathak said.

This incident has plunged the whole village into grief.
