Tinkune Call Center Case: 1 Chinese, 2 Indians and 33 Nepalis arrested

The police raided the call center at Tinkune in Kathmandu and arrested 1 Chinese, 2 Indians, and 33 Nepali nationals.

The police, who have increased their activity to break the crime network of Chinese agents, have arrested those people on the charge of cheating and doing fraud by running a call center by renting the house of businessman Suraj Vaidya in Gairigaun of Tinkune.

According to Chief SSP Bharat Bohra of District Police, Kathmandu, they were arrested on the charge of defrauding by setting up a call center and disbursing loans at high-interest rates online and defrauding the borrowers through social media if they do not pay back in the specified terms. Further investigation is going on regarding them.

On Monday afternoon, 7 women were arrested for trying to stop the police from raiding the call center in Tinkune. They were taken into custody and kept in the police office, Gaushala.
