UAE VISA centre inaugurated in Kathmandu - Swindling of aspirant workers expected to decline

The Embassy of UAE in Nepal has started operating a separate Consular Services Section (VISA centre ) from Kathmandu.

The VISA centre was officially inaugurated recently by Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security and Saeed Hamdan Alnaqbi, the ambassador of the UAE to Nepal.

With this new office in operation foreign aspirant workers who wish to go to the UAE could now get hassle free service. Also, the chances of being swindled by agents in the name of providing better jobs in the UAE will significantly decrease as per the embassy employees.

Similarly, the VISA office is expected to become very useful for discouraging people to be involved in any kind of untoward or criminal activities.

From now onwards, any aspirant workers who get a legal work permit from the UAE, will have to present themselves at the VISA Office in Kathmandu to get the VISA.

Here, the aspirant workers will be taken to all kinds of biometrics, face recognition and fingerprints are taken here. Only after which the VISA will be provided if found eligible. The embassy has hoped that keeping detailed data of aspirant workers or any other person who wishes to go to the UAE will be significantly helpful to maintain law and order in the country. Also, people who would otherwise be lured to get involved in untoward activities will be decreased.

Same process will be applied for other people seeking a visit or tourist VISA. The Visa Center will also provide the attestation services for the academic certificates, marriage certificates, birth certificates and other official documents.

The office is also likely to provide honorary VISA to specific persons, the final decision on this yet to be taken as per the embassy.

The UAE embassy took to Twitter after the inauguration and also informed about the service.

The embassy has also recently organized a cultural program on awareness of women empowerment in the society with the participation of principals from girls colleges and Rupee school along with a number of women activists in the capital.
