UML demonstrates against inflation and corruption

The main opposition CPN-UML staged a demonstration against inflation and corruption in Kathmandu on Monday.

Various organizations affiliated with CPN-UML took part in the demonstration at Basantapur of Kathmandu on Monday afternoon.

The UML held rallies in different places of the capital against rising prices of essential commodities and corruption, among other issues of public importance in the country.

The party said that it has decided to demonstrate the protest as the government did not take any initiatives to control inflation.

According to Protest Organizing Committee Coordinator Krishna Gopal Shrestha, the protest was organized to mount pressure on the government to control inflation and corruption.

Some were seen carrying gas cylinders, and some chanted slogans against the government, among other forms of protest, during the demonstration.
