The US Army and the Nepali Army have launched a joint program on how to effectively make timely and effective exchange of rescue information in the distressing time of health emergency.
Clinical Registrar and Technical Brigadier General Dr. Rajiv Raj Shahi of Mahabir Battalion inaugurated the joint operation, Medical Evacuation Information Exchange (MEEA). at Chauni based Birendra Hospital on Monday.
Dr. Shahi, gave a briefing on the exercise with welcome remarks about various health imergencies caused during various military operation, natural calamities or other incidents where casualties can be more.
A total of sixty army personnel, including 18 from the US Army and 42 from the Nepal Army, are participating the exercise. During the joint exercise, which will be conducted from Monday to March 26, the participants will exchange information on Medivac plans of both the countries, medical response equipment and communication equipment of both the countries, said the Army’s Public Relation and Information Directorate of the Nepali Army.
The Army of both sides will also conduct live air medivac demonstration by conducting table top exercises.
According to the Directorate, the joint exercise will help deepen the friendly and cordial relationship between the two armies and enhance the capacity of the armies of the two countries to provide quick and easy medical care in any future situation.
