Politicians, rights campaigners, entrepreneurs, educationists, among people from different walks of life have viewed that women have performed well when in leadership roles.
Speaking in an interaction programme organized by Nari magazine here today, the speakers underscored on establishing women's leadership in all sectors.
First lady Dr Arzu Rana Deuba said she wanted to see women leadership in all sectors, including media, the Army, Police and engineering, among others.
"Women have reached high posts as President, the Speaker, the Judiciary and other positions in various sectors. It is necessary that women reach leadership positions in other sectors as well," she said. She Adeeded women who want to see development in the country should come into politics.
The former member of the Constituent Assembly, Deuba, said the change aspired to by the self is possible when women join politics as they can participate in formulating the state's programmes and policies when they are directly involved in politics.
"Although there are several challenges to women in politics, there is also the opportunity to bring about change," the First Lady asserted.
Clinical psychologist Dr Bijay Gyawali said women are emotionally good leaders and are equally capable in that role.
Eights campaigner Sirjana Singh said it is easier for women coming from political family backgrounds to join politics, sharing her personal experience.
Principal of Uniglobe School, Bhawani Rana opined that the children should be taught the basic things and knowledge at home since family is the first school for them. She suggested the school teachers be the role model for children.
Entrepreneur Ritu Baidya said women particularly faced many challenges in life after getting married and having children, but they can become successful in their career when their family is fully supportive.
