Nepal cricket star Sandeep Lamichhane has pleaded innocence to the repeated rape charge he is facing.
Reiterating his innocence in the allegations of rape by a minor, Lamichhane said he was would take leave from CPL and return to the country within a few days.
“I am innocent and have full faith in the country’s law. I have decided to take leave from CPL and return home in a few days,” he has said on social media.
Lamichhane also hoped that he would get justice and prove his innocence.
Lamichhane is currently out of Nepal. He is in West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League.
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old girl filed a complaint against Sandeep Lamichhane accusing him of raping her.
An arrest warrant has already been issued against Lamichhane.
