The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) plunged 45.42 points to close at 2060.73 points on Tuesday.
Similarly, the sensitive index fell 9.68 points to close at 396.42 points.
A total of 6,646,036 units of the shares of 222 companies were traded for Rs 2.81 billion. All the sub-indices saw red in today’s market.
The market opened for trading at 2,109.79 points. The benchmark index started a downward journey from the very beginning of trading and eventually closed 2.16 percent lower than the previous day.
Citizen Investment Trust was the most traded stock of the day as shares worth Rs 151.09 million were traded in the bourse on Tuesday. Next on the list were Shivam Cement and Himalayan Distillery Ltd with turnovers of Rs 130.87 million and Rs 107.85 million, respectively.
