The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has suspended team captain Sandeep Lamichhane from the national team.
The move comes after the national team captain was accused of raping a minor and an arrest warrant was issued against him.
Issuing a statement Thursday evening, CAN said it took the decision as Kathmandu District Court has issued an arrest warrant against him in connection to a rape case.
A 17-year-old girl filed a complaint against Lamichhane at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala, on Tuesday.
Earlier, Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant against Lamichhane.
