Deepak Kharel, Editor-in-Chief of pardafas.com and eardafas.com has been awarded Janasewashree Pancham.
On Thursday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari honored Editor-in-Chief Kharel. The government had announced to give Janasewa Shri Vibhushan to Editor-in-Chief Kharel on the occasion of Constitution Day last September.
Kharel had started journalism from Nepalgunj in 2054 BS. He has also worked for Himal Khabar Patrika, Nepal Khabar, Nagarik and Republica Dainik, Annapurna Post, Kantipur Television, Avenues Television, Kalpristha Weekly and Nepalgunj Post.
Kharel, who has been active in the working committee of the Constitutional and Judicial Journalists Forum for two terms, has been writing on national security, corruption and investigative journalism.
He participated in the Ifa Cross Culture Program (CCP) Fellow-2021(German Federal Foreign Office ), Global Investigation Journalism Conference German-2019 (GIJN) Asian Journalism Conference-2016(GIJN) in Kathmandu.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki, Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota, Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsana, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and other ministers and high-ranking officials were present at the special function held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas.
